Information Architecture Fundamentals: Make Information Findable and Usable

More information is being produced than ever before. That information needs to show up in an endlessly changing set of devices and interfaces. How to organize it all? How to make it discoverable across systems? Enter information architecture (IA), a discipline focused on making information findable and understandable.

In this workshop, we’ll explore the many concepts of IA that help us make sense of our information spaces. Using tried and true techniques and activities, we’ll practice how to make information easy to find, navigate, and understand. We’ll go beyond site maps and tagging to discover the magic of classification, structure, organization, search, taxonomy, and labeling.
